Cookies Policy
Effective August 25, 2026.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to hold onto, and it sits there until it expires or you clear it out. Roberts Wildlife sets none of its own. The two you will find after visiting this site both come from Google Analytics, which is the only thing we use to measure who reads what. There is no advertising cookie here, because there is no advertising tag on the site.
What actually gets set
Open any page here and Google’s scripts write these to your browser:
- _ga: lets Google Analytics tell one browser apart from another. Expires roughly two years after your last visit.
- _ga_6LELXQV5R3: holds the state of your current session for our particular Analytics property. Expires roughly two years after your last visit.
What none of them do
None of these carry your name or your phone number, because the site never asks you for either one. There is no login here and no shopping cart, so nothing about you needs remembering from one visit to the next. Block them or clear them, and every page still looks and behaves exactly as it does now.
The other Google connections
Loading a page also asks Google for the fonts this site is set in, and Analytics reports back to Google while you read. One of those reporting calls currently reaches stats.g.doubleclick.net, a Google advertising domain that Analytics uses when the Google signals setting is switched on in the account. No advertising cookie lands on your machine either way, though Google does see that your browser asked, along with the address it asked from.
Turning them off
- Every major browser can block or clear cookies from its settings, and can do it for a single site rather than all of them.
- Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on switches Analytics off across the whole web.
- A private or incognito window throws all of it away the moment you close the window.
